What to expect on your Experience
Before the Experience - Registration and Briefing
Unlike our full certification courses, there is no lengthy online studying required! When you sign up, you'll be asked to read and complete the PADI Discover Scuba Diving eLearning and Participant Statement, which includes a medical questionnaire.
Before we hit the water, your instructor will give you a thorough briefing. We will explain the basic principles of scuba diving, how your equipment works, and the hand signals we use to communicate underwater. We'll make sure you feel completely comfortable and understand exactly what to expect before you ever put a regulator in your mouth.
The In-Water Session - Shallow Water Skills and Your First Dive!
The adventure begins bright and early! We meet at the dive shop at 8 am to get you perfectly fitted for your wetsuit and scuba gear. From there, we head to a calm, shallow-water environment—like a local pool or a protected beach such as Deep Water Cove or Matauri Bay.
Your instructor will help you into your gear in waist-deep water. You'll take your first breaths underwater and practice a few basic, confidence-building skills. Once you are comfortable, the real fun begins! Your instructor will guide you on a closely supervised open water dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters. You'll get to swim around, explore the marine life, and experience the incredible feeling of weightlessness. After the dive, we head back to the shop to log your very first underwater adventure.
Important Information
Age: The minimum age is 10 years old for the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience.
Medical History: All Divers are required to complete an PADI Medical Form. This form is valid for 12 month. Please complete Medical & liability Forms here

We provide absolutely everything you need! You'll be fully equipped with a 7mm Beuchat wetsuit, Scubapro fins, weight belt, boots, Aqualung & Scubapro BCD, regulators, and dive computers.
